Confidence first. Then the grades follow.
Many students come to me convinced they're "just not a science person." My approach is grounded in positive psychology: I build on what your child already does well, so they can see their own progress.
A safe place to try
Mistakes are welcome here. Your child can ask any question and try any answer without embarrassment, because getting it wrong is part of how we learn.
Small wins, celebrated
I notice effort and name it. When your child sees their own progress, one concept at a time, motivation grows and they keep going.
"I'm bad at this" becomes "I can do this"
I challenge negative self-talk and build a growth mindset. Students learn that ability grows with practice, and they start believing it about themselves.
Real classroom expertise
With 8 years of teaching biology, I know the courses, the exams and the skills teachers grade on, so every session targets what matters.

Frequently asked questions
What happens during the free consult?
We talk for 15–20 minutes about your child's class, where they're struggling and what you're hoping for. I'll recommend a plan and answer your questions. There's no obligation to book.
How do online sessions work?
Sessions take place by video call. Your child needs a computer or tablet with a camera and a quiet space. I share visuals, diagrams and practice questions on screen.
How long are sessions, and how often should my child meet?
Sessions are 60 minutes. Most students do best with one session a week. Before a big exam, two sessions a week can help.
My child is far behind. Can you still help?
Yes. We start with what your child already knows and build from there, one concept at a time. Students who feel far behind are often the ones who grow the most.
Do you help with Regents and AP exam prep?
Yes. I teach these courses and know what the exams expect, including data analysis and written explanations.
Will I know how my child is doing?
Yes. You'll get a short update after each session about what we covered, how your child did and what comes next.
What if we need to reschedule?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice and we'll find a new time.

The teacher behind The Biology Cloud
I'm a high school biology teacher with 8 years of classroom experience and a simple belief: every student can succeed in science once they believe they can. I created The Biology Cloud to share that belief beyond my own classroom. I work with students one-on-one and create classroom-ready lessons for teachers.
Students learn best when they feel capable
In 8 years of teaching, I've seen the same pattern again and again. When students struggle in biology, it is rarely about ability. It is about confidence. A student who has decided "I'm bad at science" stops raising their hand, stops trying and stops expecting to improve.
My approach draws on positive psychology and growth mindset research. I create a calm, judgment-free space where it is safe to try. I give specific, strengths-based feedback so students can see what they are doing right. And I celebrate small efforts, because recognizing progress is what keeps students going. As their confidence grows, so do their skills and their grades.
I'm genuine, easygoing and approachable, and I bring warmth and a sense of humor to every session, because students who feel relaxed are ready to learn.
